Wussup Towners. I was craving a sub sandwich today and back in the day when I used to go to Subway or Jersey Mikes’s for a sandwich. I would always get an Italian sub. So this is my keto, low-carb version of a sub sandwich. Instead of bread we are using green leaf lettuce, we rolled the whole sandwich up and wrapped it in wax paper. So save yourself some money and carbs and try this recipe out. Wrapped in a Green Leaf Lettuce and wrapped up. This sandwich can be eaten on the go, it’s like a handheld salad. Ingredients
2-3 leaves of green leaf lettuce
1 tbs mayo
1 tbs Mustard
3 slices Salami
2 slices Pepperoni
3 slices Turkey
2 slices Cheese
4 slices Tomato
4-5 slices of Cucumbers
3-4 slices of Pickles
1/8 cup Jalapenos
1/2 tsp Italian Seasoning
1/4 tsp Black Pepper
We started out by washing and cleaning our green leaf lettuce. Once cleaned we removed the toughest part of the stem of the leaves. Next, we overlapped a few leaves to make a fan pattern and then started to layer or toppings. We spread mayonnaise and stone ground mustard onto the leaves. Next, we added salami, pepperoni, turkey, Munster cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles, and jalapenos. We seasoned it with Italian seasoning and fresh cracked black pepper. Once the sandwich was made we rolled the lettuce leaves up and wrapped them with parchment paper.
