Wussup Towners. I was in the mood for steak for dinner and I had a lot of salad toppings so boom. Steak salad for dinner it is. I seared the steak in a cast iron skillet over the stovetop and cut it into thick slices and placed it on top of a romaine lettuce salad.
Ingredients
- 2 New York Strip Steaks
- 2 tsp salt
- 2 tsp pepper
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- Romaine lettuce
- 1 jalapeno
- 2 sweet peppers
- ⅛ cup onion
- 2 white mushrooms
- ⅛ cup blue cheese dressing
- 2 tbsp blue cheese crumbles
Directions
To start off I removed any excess moisture from the steaks with a paper towel and then seasoned them with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. I heated up a cast iron skillet for 3-4 minutes. Right when it started to smoke, I added some oil and then placed the steaks into the skillet. I cooked the steak for 2- 2 and a half minutes on each side over medium-high heat and then seared the fat cap for 45-60 seconds. Removed the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 10 minutes. Sliced them into thick slices and placed them on top of a salad.
