Epis is a Haitian seasoning base that can be used to season all types of food. There is a multitude of different ways that Epis is made and it differentiates from family to family. Feel free to play around with the recipe to add additional flavors to the base such as parsley, bell pepper, vinegar, peppers or other spices. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- 2 cups extra virgin olive oil
- 1 bunch of green onions/scallions (about 10-12)
- 12 oz of whole garlic cloves
optional
- 1 bunch cilantro
- 3 jalapenos (or any other pepper you would like to add)
We add all of the ingredients to a blender olive oil, green onions, garlic, cilantro, and jalapenos. We used a Vitamix blender which made quick work of blending this up. Blend until well combined the sauce should come out as a thick pourable paste.
