Almond Flour Crust Pizza | Keto | Low Carb | Cooking With Thatown2

Wussup Towners. We wanted pizza tonight and we got it. As you guys know we’ve previously tried a few different keto friendly low carb crusts such as coconut flour, carbquik, chicken, tortilla, zucchini, and egg. Today we made a pizza with almond flour for the crust and this came out amazing also. The crust is very simple to make with just 4 ingredients, and it doesn’t give off that overwhelming almond taste that you sometimes get. You’ll be glad you made this healthy pizza.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz ground sausage
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 tbs garlic
  • 1 tbs tomato paste
  • 14 oz crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup Mozzarella cheese
  • 2 oz pepperoni
  • 2 sweet peppers
  • 1/2 tomato
  • 1 jalapeno

To start off add your ground sausage to a frying pan to brown cook to crumbles and season with salt and pepper (5-7 mins). For the tomato sauce add olive oil to your sauce pan once heated add your chopped onions and sauté for 2 mins. Then add your garlic and tomato paste and cook for 30 sec, then add your crushed tomatoes. Season with salt pepper, oregano, and basil let simmer for 10 mins.

To make the crust add your mozzarella cheese and cream cheese if not soft place in the microwave for 30 sec to a min to soften. Then add your almond flour and egg and mix all ingredients until your dough forms a soft ball. Take some parchment paper and spray with cooking spray and pour your dough mixture onto the parchment paper. Press out your dough to form the shape of your pizza. spray with cooking spray and fork the dough so no bubbles form. Place in the oven at 425 for 12-15 mins until the crust forms.

Once out of the oven start building your pizza add the tomato sauce you can top with cheese now or at the end, we added cheese now then topped with pepperoni, sausage, sweet peppers, tomatoes, jalapenos, and more cheese. Place back in the oven at 425 for 10 mins or until the cheese has melted. Turn on the broiler and brown the top for 2 mins or until the pizza is browned to your liking. Enjoy!
