Wussup Towners. I got tired of seeing the kids come home with donuts all the time so we decided to make some Keto Friendly Sugar Free Low Carb Chocolate and Strawberry Donuts. We ordered a silicone mold from Amazon and used it to bake the donuts. I was surprised by how easy the donuts were to make. We also made 2 glazes one sugar free and one chocolate to pour over top of the donuts. Not having donuts in so long, I couldn’t tell the difference lol. I could tell that they were baked instead of fried but besides that, they came out excellent.
Ingredients -this makes 6 donuts
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1 scoop isopure zero carb chocolate whey protein powder
- 2 tbs cocoa powder
- ⅓ monk fruit sweetener sugar substitute
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp xanthan gum optional
- 1 tsp psyllium husk optional
- 4 eggs
- 4 tsp heavy whipping cream
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbs butter
Glaze
- 3 tablespoons butter
- ¼ cup confectioners sugar substitute
- ⅓ cup heavy cream or a little more if you want a thicker glaze
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Chocolate Glaze
- ¼ cup sugar free chocolate chips
- 1 tbs coconut oil
For the strawberry donuts, we used strawberry flavored isopure whey protein and did not add cocoa powder
Start by adding all of your dry ingredients together flour, whey protein, cocoa powder, sugar substitute, baking powder, xanthan gum, and psyllium husk mix to combine. Next, add your wet ingredients eggs, heavy whipping cream, vanilla extract, and butter, and combine. Once well mixed pour into a grease donut mold. Bake in the oven at 350 for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
For the glaze combine butter, sugar substitute, heavy whipping cream, and vanilla extract in a bowl and microwave for 30 sec. If still not melted continue to microwave in 5 sec increments until smooth. If using a saucepan on the stovetop heat for 2–3 minutes on low. dip the donuts into the glaze and let cool for 1-2 minutes to harden.
