Brown Sugar Glazed Ham | Keto | Sugar Free | Cooking With Thatown2

  • Ingredients
  • 2-3 lb pre cut ham
  • 2 tbs brown sugar substitute
  • 1 tbs sugar substitute
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • 2 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp Chinese five spice
  • pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sugar free syrup

Directions
We made a Keto Sugar Free Low Carb Holiday Ham for Easter. This method works on a spiral ham or a whole uncut ham. If the ham is not pre cut just go ahead and score the top half of the ham with a cross cut section basically cut horizontal and vertical cuts in the top part of the ham to allow the glaze to penetrate the meat.

Combine all of the ingredients brown sugar substitute, sugar substitute, mustard, vinegar, Chinese five spice, cayenne pepper, black pepper, sugar free syrup to make a thick paste. If your paste is to thin add more sugar if it is too thick add more vinegar. Place a cup of water at the bottom of the cooking pan and place the ham in the oven at 325 for 20 mins. After 20 mins start basting the ham with the sugar glaze and continue doing so until you have used all the glaze or the ham is at temp. At the end feel free to turn on the broiler to crisp the top.

We normally make a large Ham shank but decided to make a smaller ham this year due to not that many, basically nobody coming over for dinner due to the current coronavirus pandemic Covid-19.

bake at 325 for 20 mins. baste every 20 mins until the ham reaches 130.
