Sticky Fried Beef and Broccoli | Keto | Cooking With Thatown2

Sticky Fried Beef and Broccoli is keto friendly, low carb and sugar free. This recipe is very simple to make and you won’t miss Chinese take out after making this. Get your chop sticks ready if you know how to use them. (I don’t lol) Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs of thin sliced beef (we used fajita style meat)
  • 1 tbs soy sauce
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • small knob of ginger (1 tsp)
  • 2 scoops of protein powder (if not doing keto enough flour to coat your steak)
  • 1 tsp baking powder

24 oz Broccoli

Sauce

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar substitute
  • 1 tbs chopped garlic
  • 1 tbs soy sauce
  • 2 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbs sugar free ketchup
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbs lime juice
  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • 2 tsp hot sauce
  • knob of garlic
  • (taste your sauce if anything is needed or lacking please adjust)
  • optional
  • Green onions
  • Crushed rep peppers
  • sesame seeds

Directions

To your beef add soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Let the beef marinate for at least an hour for the flavors to combine. After marinating remove from the refrigerator and add your whey protein powder and baking powder and start coating the steak. The powder will start to clump up just keep working it into the meat until it forms a paste and starts to coat the meat. This may take a minute or so. After the meat is coated it is time to fry the meat. I fried the steak in lard in small batches on medium high. It took about 3-4 mins to fry each batch and it took 3 batches to fry all the meat. After the meat is cooked then you can make your sauce combine all the ingredients for the sauce and whisk until combined. Then place in a frying pan to reduce. The color will change from a bright red to a maroon color when all the liquid is cooked out for about 5 mins or so. After the sauce has reduced you can add your steak and broccoli to the sauce. Our broccoli was steamable in the back we steamed it for 8 mins and then added it to the sauce. Combine your steak, broccoli, and sauce together and top with green onions.
